The Social Security Administration building was a design/assist effort resulting in a 205,000 square foot, five-level building in Downtown Albuquerque for the General Services Administration and Social Security Administration. The building is a call center with open floor planning. Levels two through five include 14-inch raised access flooring system with HVAC provided under floor via specially constructed sheet metal air highways. This system provides a constant low velocity method of air distribution throughout. Fiber optic cabling was installed under the access floor for all communication systems. In addition to the building's exterior Southwest appeal, other building features include cafeteria, health facility, exterior courtyard, loading dock, one level of below grade parking, and special security features addressing the Oklahoma City bombing incident.
